Godello en Lágrimas de los bancales de Olivedo. From the moment we hold a bottle of Godello en Lágrimas de los Bancales de Olivedo, we know we are going to enjoy the finesse and elegance of this wine, with its carefully crafted, very special presentation. It charms and wins you over from the very story of its origin in the vineyard: it comes from vines planted on terraces over slate soil, in a spot of extraordinary beauty whose dry climate is ideal for producing organoleptically supreme bunches — so much so that cactus plants and other magnoliopsids more typical of desert climates are a common sight in the area. No herbicides or glyphosate are used at any stage of its cultivation, and the fruit is picked by hand into baskets of around 20 kilos at the beginning of September. To the eye, it is an intense yellow with golden notes. On the nose, a creamy sensation envelops you, with bakery notes that draw us into the sensations of the oak. Notes of ripe stone fruit also appear, even dried apricots, refreshed by citrus touches. As the wine opens up, subtle, elegant notes of white flowers emerge. On the palate the entry is warm and very creamy, thanks to the unctuousness contributed by the lees and the oak ageing. In the mouth the wine wraps you in the freshness and elegance of the variety, finishing with that bitter touch so typical of Godello, which makes it linger very long. On the aftertaste, even balsamic notes from the oak appear. An elegant, complex wine, subtle in its nuances. Recommended with fish and rice dishes, but with enough structure to be enjoyed with lighter meats.
